The Origins of Liberal Arts


At our last class meeting, we had an interesting discussion on the purpose of education and the true meaning of "Liberal Arts". The concept of  studying seven subjects to understand our world and to continue to teach oneself.   1. I think education means not only improving oneself, but improving society. In order to have a productive society, we must have an educated society. Through history education was always a great divide between social classes. So education is the tool to break class and make a difference in our world.
