Procession of Nobles

Here is a link to another song from Rimsky Korsakov. It's called Procession of the Nobles and the song does a good job of illustrating a grand entrance of a royal family such as the Czars of Russia. The brass and the percussion particularly helped me imagine pre-industrial Russia where peasants would gather to see a glimse of royalty.

  1. James,

Thanks for posting this, Procession of the Nobles is a great piece. By the way, along the lines of the "music appreciation/education" portion of our course - in classical music, it's best not to refer to everything as a "song", since that generally refers to vocal works. I encourage students to get used to using the terms "piece", "composition" or "work".
